How does the application process work?

Our recruiting team will guide you through the entire application process. We manage all applications from our national and international locations centrally at our headquarters in Pforzheim.

Steps in the application process:

  1. Confirmation of receipt: You will receive a confirmation from us upon receipt of your application.
  2. Telephone interview: If required, we will conduct a telephone interview with you to get to know you better.
  3. Communication with the recruiting team: Until the interview with the specific department (via Microsoft Teams), our recruiting team manages all communication.
  4. Job interview: During the interview, you will get to meet the responsible specialists and managers in person.

Contact with the recruiting team:
As we are a large team with many applicants, working students and trainees, you will have several contact persons throughout the application process. You can reach us centrally via the application hotline (07231 – 1560-888) or by e-mail(karriere@thost.de).

Duration of the application process:
The entire application process takes approx. 6 weeks from confirmation of receipt. In individual cases it may be quicker, but sometimes there may also be delays. In such cases, you will receive an interim notification and can inquire about the status of your application at any time.

Why do I receive an infomail from XING?

We use the applicant management system “onlyfy one” (by XING) to manage your application efficiently and securely.

What does this mean for you? If you receive a notification that your personal profile has been created on the onlyfy one (by XING) platform, this means that your application has been successfully added to our database.

Your data is safe with us and will not be published on Xing at any time. They are only accessible to authorized people at THOST Projektmanagement GmbH via the applicant management system. We guarantee the protection of your personal information throughout the entire application process.

When can I apply?

You can apply at any time, there are no fixed start dates at THOST. We recommend submitting your application around four months before your desired start date. Please also take into account your individual notice period.

Who should I address the cover letter to?

The salutation “Dear Sir or Madam” is perfectly acceptable to us, as your application will be processed by a team and there is therefore no specific contact person. If you have come to us via a personal contact, you are welcome to mention this in your cover letter.

With whom do I conduct the interview / Who are my interview partners?

The interviews will be conducted by our specialists and managers. You are welcome to enquire about the expected participants after receiving the invitation. Due to the dynamic nature of the project business, participants sometimes change at short notice, which is why we cannot provide any binding information.

Why do we conduct telephone interviews?

Telephone interviews help our managers to make a decision and clarify specific questions about your application in advance, such as your preferred location.

Why do we conduct job interviews via MS Teams?

Interviews via MS Teams minimize travel distances, reduce the time required and contribute to environmental protection.

Are there personal interviews?

Of course, we would like to get to know you personally, and you will certainly want to see our office and your future workplace. That’s why we always invite you to one or sometimes two personal interviews.

Why am I receiving emails twice?

True to the motto “twice is better”: some e-mail providers block e-mails from our database. For this reason, we send you a second e-mail via Outlook with some e-mail providers to ensure that you receive all the important information.

What does the letter about the applicant pool mean?

This letter is not a rejection. Your profile is very interesting, but we do not currently have a suitable project or employment opportunity for you. As we can imagine working with you in the future, we would like to keep your documents for consideration for future projects. Due to the General Data Protection Regulation, we are obliged to inform you in detail, which is why the letter is so extensive.

In which language should I send my documents?

We would prefer to receive your documents in German, however, for international positions, we are also happy to accept them in English.
