BIM in the Zuffenhausen indoor pool

With the new construction of the Zuffenhausen indoor pool, the city of Stuttgart is breaking new ground: as a BIM pilot project, the pool is not only intended to impress architecturally and set standards as an Energy-Plus building, but also through consistent digitalization and model-based, interdisciplinary planning.

THOST is supporting the project as project manager throughout all service phases – and reports on its experiences from the planning phase so far in the current buildingSMART publication“BIM is in here!”.

The article highlights:

• the overarching BIM objectives of the Projects,
• the role of Project Controlling in the implementation of the BIM strategy,
• as well as key findings from model-based planning.

The results show that a high degree of digitalization, structured processes and the early involvement of all stakeholders create real added value – for planning, coordination and future operations. The experience gained makes an important contribution to the further development of the method – for Stuttgart and beyond.
