Proven method in new splendor

The tried and tested has been given a new lease of life: Building Information Modelling (BIM) is nothing new for builders – but the method is likely to be used even more in the future.

A new major driver for this: the importance of sustainable construction is constantly increasing – this development can be observed throughout the construction industry at a national level. The Fraunhofer IAO recently published a strategy roadmap outlining the critical areas of action for zero-emission construction sites – some of which cannot be implemented without BIM.

For Fabian Friedrich, Head of Center of Competence BIM at THOST, one thing is clear: climate-neutral construction will not be possible in the future without BIM. In his opinion piece in Bundesbaublatt, he outlines the many reasons for this and why public-sector clients are one step ahead of residential construction companies, industry and trade.
