Home 5 Project 5 Decarbonization of Administration Building

Project

Creation of a decarbonization strategy for two administrative buildings of a financial company to reduce the carbon footprint and achieve climate neutrality by 2035

Project type

Decarbonization and Climate Protection

Client

Financial Institution

Location

Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate

The financial institution has set itself the goal of continuously reducing its carbon footprint in accordance with the Paris Agreement and becoming climate-neutral by 2035 at the latest. It operates over 200 branches and several administrative buildings in Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate. The properties are divided into different building categories, which have different usage units and sizes. As a first step, a decarbonization strategy was developed for two administrative buildings in order to achieve the institute’s self-imposed climate targets.

Our services included a detailed inspection and analysis of the existing building material and the determination of floor space. During inspections, the buildings were assessed in terms of their structural substance and energy efficiency. Based on these results, we determined the necessary measures to save energy and reduce CO2 emissions. We then drew up a tailor-made decarbonization strategy that outlined specific steps and investments for the sustainable refurbishment of the buildings. A detailed investment cost plan rounded off the strategy to provide the client with a transparent and feasible basis for future implementation.
