A new 5-course secondary school was built in Munich, including an adjoining triple sports hall for popular sports with a grandstand for around 200 spectators and outdoor sports areas. An underground parking garage with around 30 parking spaces was built beneath the open spaces. The cramped conditions on the site presented the planning team with a major challenge: in order to ensure the implementation of the required space program, there were overlaps and dual uses of individual areas, especially in the outdoor sports areas.
Teaching areas with classrooms and specialist rooms (including physics, chemistry, biology, handicrafts and music) as well as facilities for all-day use such as a canteen, kiosk and an assembly hall were created. The open and modern overall concept of the building was designed taking into account a cutting edge fire prevention concept and high fire safety requirements for the building components.
THOST Projektmanagement took over the complete project management according to §2 of the architectural regulations 2014, booklet 9, for project stages 1 to 5. The service included all areas of activity A to E, from project preparation and planning to participation in the awarding of contracts, monitoring of construction work and subsequent project support.
