Project

Construction of a multi-functional maintenance hangar for electrically powered vertical take-off aircraft (eVTOL), combining office, assembly and storage functions

Project type

Construction

Client

Air-Taxi manufacturer

Location

Bruchsal

On behalf of an air-taxi manufacturer, a new maintenance hangar with a landing and take-off area for vertical take-off, electrically operated aircraft (multicopters) was built on the grounds of the airfield in Bruchsal in Baden-Württemberg. The modern facility combines hangar functions with office, assembly and storage functions.

The horizontal structure of the facade emphasizes the elongated, filigree contours of the building, while the “office cockpit” at the front combines the most important office and technical functions. A storage area with expandable office functions forms the end of the building. Both parts are connected by the long hangar body with a striking hangar portal.

In this project, THOST was responsible for project management in areas A to E, organizational consulting and construction management.
