Project

Cost control, Schedule Control and reporting in accordance with German engineering standards for the subsidized broadband expansion for the district of Rastatt

Project type

Infrastructure expansion

Client

District of Rastatt

Location

District of Rastatt

The district of Rastatt carried out an expansion of the backbone and backhaul network (core network and distribution network) as well as the so-called “white spots” with fiber optics funded by the federal and state governments. In the process, 202 km of network were newly constructed in expansion areas using various construction methods (trenching, flushing, rock, etc.) with POPs (data nodes) and 148 km of network were leased. These two network sections were coupled and connected to the existing fiber optic infrastructure. The project area covers an area of approx. 740 km² with 23 towns and municipalities.

THOST Projektmanagement provided cost control, Schedule Control and reporting services in accordance with German engineering standards. This included the monitoring of costs and scheduling, the coordination of funding processing and the preparation of a communication timetable for the construction phase up to the final settlement with the funding bodies.
