New Logistics Centre

A company in the pharmaceutical industry built a new, state-of-the-art logistics building at its site in Baden-Württemberg. In two fully automated storage areas – one for refrigerated products at 4 degrees Celsius and one at room temperature – direct deliveries are handled completely independently of traditional pallet shipping. The high degree of automation of the logistics processes has significantly increased efficiency and speed. In future, the logistics center will serve as an international distribution hub for global patient care: over 10,000 products will be shipped from here to around 170 countries.

THOST Project Management took over the complete Project Controlling – from structuring and organization, schedule management and cost management to Risk Management and change management. In addition to updating the master schedule and detailed target/actual comparisons in cost controlling, regular reporting was also carried out. The project strengthens the strategic role of Logistics in the pharmaceutical industry and underlines the global importance of Baden-Württemberg as a Logistics hub.
