A modern laboratory and research building with a usable area of approx. 3,100 m² was planned on the Melaten campus for the new replacement building of the Institute for Rock Metallurgy at RWTH Aachen University. The institute combines the departments of Ceramics and Refractory Materials, Glass and Ceramic Composites and Modeling in Materials Technology. In addition to highly specialized laboratories, the new building also includes office and meeting rooms, a lecture hall and workshops.
THOST was responsible for project controlling in German engineering standards project stages 2 to 5 and in action areas A to E in accordance with German engineering standards 2014. Services included organizing, coordinating and controlling the overall project across all phases with the aim of ensuring quality, costs and deadlines. The project was successfully implemented with special consideration of the complex scientific requirements.
