Location
North Sea
Five offshore converter platforms for high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission were realized for a German company in the North Sea clusters BorWin, HelWin and SylWin. The platforms are used to convert and bundle the alternating current generated by offshore wind farms into direct current, which is then transported to the respective grid connection point on land via high-voltage sea and land cables. The individual projects include BorWin II, BorWin III, HelWin I, HelWin II and SylWin I.
As part of this overall portfolio, THOST provided Project Management, Project Controlling, Contract Management and Project Control services. The tasks included interface coordination between the various project participants, schedule and cost controlling as well as Contract Management in a technically and logistically demanding environment. The project was managed across all project phases – from planning to commissioning.
