Construction of a new administrative building in Waiblingen

The Rems-Murr District Office constructed a modern administrative building at Alten Postplatz 10 in Waiblingen with a clear focus on sustainability, energy efficiency, and user comfort. On the site of a demolished multi-storey car park, a new building was constructed with its own distinct urban character and a gross floor area of approximately 15,830 m². The building comprises four upper floors, a ground floor with a reception area and cafeteria, and three basement levels that house, among other things, technical facilities and an underground parking garage.

The building was designed and constructed to be carbon-neutral in accordance with the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement and is set to receive the DGNB Gold Certificate as part of the ongoing certification process.

THOST Projektmanagement was responsible for project management and supervision at all project stages and in all areas of activity in accordance with German engineering standards, as well as for BIM management, including the administration of the Common Data Environment (CDE). Further services included the conduct of tendering procedures (UVgO, VgV, VOB), support with urban land-use planning, and assistance with funding applications and accounting. These measures form part of a comprehensive overall concept, which also includes the subsequent renovation of existing parts of the building.
